When I get bored/pissed some nights I'll just drive around on country roads where there are no cars with the window rolled down just listening to mellow music. Can't really do it that often with gas prices being what they are, but it makes me happy to do that once in a while.

It took me a moment to realise that by "pissed" you meant "angry" rather than "drunk" - needless to say that sounded a lot more concerning with the one reading than the other.

On that note I really like the heterogeneous nature of the English language and its dialects.

I imagine for me, this would put me in a pretty bad mood because the logistics would be pretty awkward.

I remember having an awkward conversation once with my housemates about pissing in the shower, and I was like, "Ew, do you really piss in the shower?" and they were like, "What you don't!?"

------------------------

the girl i have big crush on, i was feelin like shit all day and i pass her once in the hall and seeing her smile put me in good mood

i swear i went from Deicide's In The Eyes of God (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVYK-2ihvvc) to Madness's NW5 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R621AtrvXhE)
some lyrics:

In the Eyes of God
Fester in the wounds without no dignity or soul,
blind eyed to the realm of god is what your future holds
Relish by catastrophe in battled by deceit,
forfeit what is right for wrong

NW5
Though we face the final curtain
One thing remains, thats for certain
I will love you all my life
But without you in my life

I would give you everything
For just the smile you bring
For just the song to sing
I would give you everything
For just that smile you bring
For just that song to sing I sing now

just the bit i quote from NW5, i gotta admit the rest of the song has a completely different thing going on) i cant help but sing and think of her

Today my economics teacher (mr. L. Engels), who is great and very funny, noticed I was wearing a t-shirt with Karl Marx' head on it. Immediately he started talking about Marx (he was really neutral actually, not at all insulting Marx or ridiculing marxism) for at least 15 minutes. At the end, he revealed that he is a direct family member of Friedrich Engels! So a family member of one of the writers of the Communist Manifesto is teaching me economics! It made my day.

Although on the subject of money, I was panicking earlier because I am very, very low on funds at the moment and I wasn't sure whether the student loan company had received my application (I sent it late). So I called them today and discovered they have received my application and I should have money again on Monday, yay! There are a few things I need to buy but haven't had the money for in the past few weeks so I'm really glad that I'll be able to afford them soon. i got some hella fancy organic free-range fair-trade ultra deluxe green tea for hella cheap today. It turns out it is actually very good tea. Normally the stuff i get that's supposed to be cheap is really bad and ultra bitter. This was still bitter like tea is but it's like discovering the difference between burnt coffee and actually good coffee you know?

But yeah drinkin that tea + listening to Earth on some new speakers i got as a gift + my dog sleepin at my feet under my desk which is his new den + cleaned house + going to the comic book store and maybe a record store later + friend is coming back from the city to hang out + i just got paid + i reached another weight loss mini-goal + i'm quitting my shitty job for another better job = a lot of great small things that mean a good day.

I also like it when it's sleeting and snowing and being in the woods alone. Then it peaks in the dead of winter at night after a heavy snow. This is where I need to be.

The change of seasons, everything seems brand new. Like I walk down this one street all the time but it looks completely different when it's just a little overcast.

Or after it rains and the sun comes out. The clouds look like giant floating white mountains and the sky looks beautiful. Like a light blue, the kind of blue you imagine the water at the Bahamas to be. Just freakin amazing. And it's still a little chilly outside, not too hot but not too cold.

I nearly got arrested yesterday night/very early in the morning. Yesterday I went to the other side of my country to see some universities I might be attending next year. Some friends went to see the same universities, we sat in the train (which I enjoy), we had diner in a restaurant, etc etc. It was just a fun day. When we got back at the train station in a city near my home, I had to take 2 buses to reach my house. The first bus was no problem. We got to a village, I said two of my friends goodbye and with 1 other friend I had to take the last bus to my home village. But apparently the last bus went 2 hours before we got there and we were semi-drunk so we did not feel like calling our parents in the middle of the night to get us. So we walked 7 kilometres in the darkest of the night to my village. This was no problem actually and we had a fun time.

When we finally entered my village after more than an hour walking, we passed an old building that used to be a disco and a bowling centre but has been empty for about 1 year now. I talked about squatting it and my friend thought it was a good idea (impossible though, but still a good idea). We had passed the disco for about 200 metres when we suddenly heard a man yelling: 'Hey!'. We stopped and turned around, and there was a man that just exited the disco and he was following us. First I thought it was just a drunkard, but then I saw he was wearing that light reflecting clothing security guards sometimes wear. We waited till he reached us and I asked 'Yes?'. Then suddenly he started circling around us, yelling we had broken into the disco, that we vandalized everything, that we destroyed for tens of thousands euro's for property damage and that the police was on the way. My first thinking response was They will never get me alive!!!, but I realised I had done nothing wrong so I acted extremely patiently and friendly against the man. He calmed down, acted friendlier and he mentioned some guys he knew that were vandalizing the village. He asked us wether they were friends, but they were not. Thanks to my calmness he saw we were innocent (I think. I never loose my temper.) and he said he would continue the search for the vandals and that we were not even suspects anymore.

So we had travelled about 400 kilometres that day with no problem, but 500 metres away from my house I nearly get arrested. And now comes the weird part: it made me sad when he said we could go. I wanted to be arrested. I do not know why, but it made me a little happy when he said the cops would soon arrive. And I was put in a good mood by the whole event too. Altough I do feel bad for the guy who was guarding the building, because he seemed really stressed out. And I think it is funny that the security guard believed us: two semi-drunk guys claiming to have walked 7 kilometres in the dark in the middle of the night because they were 2 hours late for the bus, who passed the disco that was just vandalized and talking about squatting it while they were just acting suspicious by wearing their hoodies and staring at passing cars, who say they are innocent.

Oh, and also, the guard told me to tell everyone I knew that he had an attack dog inside the building that was capable of tearing people into pieces and when he sees someone in the building, he will not restrain the dog. In fact, he will stand next to you and laugh when you get eaten by the dog... But he seemed like a nice guy overall, so don't judge him based on this.

You guys are lucky up in Canuckistan. Down here they keep you in school like prisoners, even for lunch/break. At my high school we were only allowed on this little porch area for lunch if we wanted to go outside, only about 20 students could fit and that'd be uncomfortable. Leaving is out of the question. You'll be put in in-school suspension, which is where you go to school in the morning and can't leave a room that's got administrators in it constantly, you do all your work in there and they bring you your lunch, which you also eat in there. If you talk to other students in there, who are also on suspension, you get in further trouble. There were (are) constant patrols to look for students outside or trying to cut. One time I cut (I cut a lot but just this one time) I was seen by the patrol, and my friend and I had to hide for 2 hours in some random house's storage shed on the side of their house to avoid being caught.

I should note that this only applies to public schools. I didn't go to private schools but I'm sure there are some lenient ones.

Holy shit that's insane. What is the reasoning behind this? I can't think of any logical explanation to do that; although is it different with elementary school? My lil bro is only 11.

Edit: Actually on that lunch break I picked him up he asked me about my Karl Marx shirt cause he thought it was santa clause and I explained a little basic Marxism to him.

The elementary schools I went to had outside areas for students to eat lunch at, but you still weren't allowed to leave campus. I don't remember there being in-school suspension, the earliest I remember that is middle school (grades 6 through 8) when everyone hits puberty and starts fighting and stuff. I got into a couple of fights in elementary school but didn't really get in trouble, just sent to the principal's office, where they called my parents, then I was sent back to class. I think that was pretty standard procedure in the early-mid 90s. But I don't know about now.

As far as the rationale, I have no idea. American schools have been steadily militarized since the 80s.

Wow. At my (public) high school people could leave school grounds every year for lunch. We had officers to "patrol" but they mainly stayed in the office and rarely did much other than issue parking tickets. Skipping was fine, in the sense that nothing happened other than suspension for more than like 3 in a month. And once I was a senior I could sign myself out whenever I wanted. I pretty much had three day weekends every week my senior year :D

I bought a bowlingball today. Really cheap, from a second-hand store. Now all I need is a passion for bowling. And a bowling track. Actually I hate bowling, especially bowling in large groups. It takes ages before you can get into action, then you roll two balls, miss everything, and then you must wait some more. But I do live my new bowling ball:tt1:

For the first time in my life buying a new bed.
Always i had hand-me-downs that had a hammock effect when you where laying in them and my current bed is to short for my length and my feet occasionally pop out at the end.

Now i will get one that is long enough and wide enough for me to roll around in :D and a mattress that wont mess up my back.
Now all i need is a blanket big enough to wrap around me when im cold and i will be set for a very long time

Painkillers. I've had the worst abdominal pains today and taking painkillers actually makes life bearable if I want to do anything besides lie in bed with a hot water bottle swearing every so often.

Which reminds me that I need a new bed. I have had my current mattress literally since I was out of the crib and as one might expect it is in dismal condition; springs poking out everywhere and areas that are collapsed, it is a mess. Thing is family doesn't have the money to buy a new one so I'll have to wait. But when I do get a new mattress, happy day! lol

In my area several thrift stores have new mattresses sealed in plastic that are heavily discounted - maybe try a place like that.
