A federal appeals court on Friday rejected efforts by the recording industry to compel the nation's Internet providers to turn over names of subscribers suspected of illegally swapping music online.

I personally download music as a preview. If I like what I hear, I'll buy it. I'm one of those people who think the artist should be paid for their efforts. I know, I know..... we've been down this road a 100 times.....

Good good good. It was really stupid of them in the first place to be going after people like that. They should be attacking the P2P service providers if anything, not the various people who use the service.
