What is RevLeft's opinion of the International Workers of the World?

Personally, I think they're good people to work with and are dedicated anticapitalists, even if I don't agree with their politics.

I read a lot of the articles on their site, and they do have many. I like them but don't know if I necessarily agree with their theory, actually I disagree on some things strongly. That said, I don't feel hatred or anything towards them and would consider them admirable.

I agree with Vevois, while I don't agree with them politically it's hard to think of a more dedicated revolutionary group. I have nothing but respect for them. And they may have the potential to play an important part in the revolution.

I think they're awesome and I would join my local branch if I could.
And the first word of the name is Industrial, not International.

I browsed their site before. They seem like a good organization that does good work. The IWW's history is also fascinating.

The syndicalist stuff bothers me. Having said that I would march/work with them any day of the week.

Fair point, although we keep that to a bare minimum. There's a lot of Marxists in our GMB, and we all know the union is built and run by people dedicated to keeping ideological influence to a minimum. If anything, the Wobblies in the past and now present are an odd-fusion of Marxism and Syndicalism. Wobblies are another group of their own  I mean, if you glance at the preamble, it's so Marxian!

Anyway, I've been a member for almost 2 years. I followed the I.W.W. closely for 2 years before even joining, and I honestly think we're a great organization if you're looking for somewhere to start. I'm super stoked on so many things going on with the union right now!

Oh, and it seriously took 7 replies before someone had to mention it was "Industrial" Workers of the World... nice.
