Would anyone recommend this book? Is it any good?

I think it's a pretty overrated book.

I think too often the author goes into some abstract concept and then tries to explain it with a trite metaphor - a tactic that I think is rather jarring. Other than that, it's a good introduction to Marxist thought.

So it's more of an introduction to Marx? I already have enough of those.

It's pretty good. I always suggest it for people who don't have a good idea on what Marxism is. Basically covers all of the misconceptions on communism/Marxism and turns them on their head. Worth a read regardless, it's a short book and shouldn't take long to get through.

I think it's good - it's one of the first "non-Marx" Marxist books that I read. It tackles some of the misconceptions and arguments against Marxism nicely.
