I saw that picture of half naked young greeks and thought 'whoa! They're going back to THOSE basics?'

But seriously, atleast not everyone is turning to fascism, but it does help that Greece doesn't freeze like the arctic in the winter.

The crumbling of capitalism is causing people to debase themselves and forgo many of the technologies they should be able to take for granted. I think things like this remind me why its so important to oppose capitalism.

Reminds me of this other article (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-19298155) from the BBC. The overall tone of that article irritated the shit out of me. Nothing wrong with home-cooked food, but the intimations of folksy tweeness from the author were particularly grating in light of the primary reason for people doing this, which is based on economics and not a personal hankering for old-fashioned cooking.

We're going to see more of this shit, in which the mainstream media attempt to sugar-coat the harsh realities of capitalism with "simpler life" bullshit.

I'm not fooled for a nanosecond.

bullshit

What is?

Half-naked young Canadians are getting together to live in hippy colonies?

The group sleeps communally in yurts they have built themselves, they grow their own food and exchange the surplus in the nearest village for any necessities they cannot produce.

Fucking counter-revolutionary Anarchists...

Well, most of the economic problems we have going on in Canada are self-inflicted. When Harper goes about gutting public healthcare to build new fleets of fighter jets, it's going to be felt by the average family.

Fucking counter-revolutionary Anarchists...

What do you expect them to do? They still live in capitalism.

During the summer only. You have to bundle up during the rest of the year.
Here (http://www2.macleans.ca/2012/07/26/the-backyard-economy/) is the article I was reminded of.

Don't start reproducing capitalism all over again through uneven development.

I don't know running around naked, living like hippies has anything to do with Anarchism, care to explain that to an Anarcho-Communist who believes in revolution?

I think the appropriate term was "eco-activists" as stated in the article, stop trying to flex your tendency as superior by misrepresenting others.

"What others saw as a global economic crisis, we saw as a crisis of civilisation," Mr Sianos explains.

Mr Sianos and his eco-activist companions first met in an online forum in 2008 and after two years of exploring ideas decided to put their principles into practice.

Heh.

Because the point on a country that produces 240 billion euros wealth/year and the capitalists exported 840 billion to banks in Switserland is not to eat fruits from the trees, but to claim the wealth that belongs to the society. The rest is anti-revolutionary BULLSHIT!

I don't know why but greek people don't seem to know in what kind of situation we are on. Seriously how long do I have to wait until the majority of the people start "waking up" from the capitalist narkosis?

PS If you go in an island so you can live there hmmmm.... You should probably stay to the capitalist b*llshit and try to take as many people as you can to the communistic side. If you go to the island with 9 other people you are not a warrior you are a "save my ass and I don't care about the rest of you" guy.

People, never mind the capitalist crisis. We can always go back to hunter-gathering.

The bourgeoisie's cynicism has no limits.

Are there islands enough for all unemployed Greeks?

Ditching modern civilisation only works on an individual scale. Things like this can never solve the problem of capitalism.
