Since people have such an affection for certain superstitions, I've devised this little to test to determine whether YOUR faith would disrupt classless society.

What is your religion's position on sex before marriage?

1. First of all, what religion do you claim to follow? Christianity/Other (my own based on Christianity, don't you love being able to create your own way of life! It melds with my political theory, so it changes with the wind (but not much lately).)
Do you believe in ghosts? Define (but probably no).
Do you believe that UFOs are alien visitors? No
Do you support the theory of evolution?Y
2. About your religion/beliefs/creed
How many gods are in your religion?1
Are they the one true god(s)?Yes and no
The rules concering your behaviour, are guidelines, suggestions
3. Your religion's propaganda and attitudes
Does your religion require you to convert others to your faith?N
Can worship be performed at home only? Y
Do you need to 'spread the holy word' to gain favour with your God? N
What is your religion's position on sex before marriage?Don't Care (actually we advocate abolishing marriage)
Homosexuality?Don't Care
Drug Use?Don't Care
What does your religion ask you to do about non-believers? Nothing/Ignore/Convert (but don't try to hard).
What is your religion's stance on class society?Abolish
4: The universe at large
How was the universe created? God created the universe
Where is your god?Outside the universe/nowhere/everywhere
What are your God?Various/None (see above)
As you can see this is a religion that is contridictory, but hell who cares. I'm the only one practicing it, it doesn't require any worship, it's very open. It does require you to think about what you believe in and read a shit load though. Compulsary reading include parts of the Bible/Koran/holy book of your choice, the Communist Manifesto, Mein Kampf, The Republic, The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings, various works by A.C. Clarke, I. Asimov, R. Zelenzy (sp?), G. Orwell, and many other authors.

When you think about it more deeply you will see that isn't true. It's a simple rule but covers a lot. Let's examine it:
"An' it harm none, do as ye wilt."
Things this would cover:
you can't exploit people, you can't kill people, you can't rape people, you can't leave people living the street, etc.

The rede covers yourself as well so the excuse of "I'm only hurting myself" doesn't fly. That is why I do not drink alcohol or take any drugs. Of course there are situations where you'd have no choice (such as self-defense) but the karmic cost wouldn't be as bad.

there are many who view Buddhism as a way of life and not strictly a religion. You will often see practicing Buddhists still honor the traditional pagan gods of their culture. Wiccans who consider themselves to be Buddhists as well are no different.
I don't know what "anatmanic" means and I couldn't find it in the dictionary so I can't answer that part. As for as the issue of souls, I don't understand what your point is. Can you expand/clarify your point?
Pete
28th December 2003, 15:26
Anatmanic means no atman, and atman, in Hinduism, is the unchanging undying soul, it is the thing that you speak of when you say "I", and it is what the followers of the jnana (knowledge) yoga seek. So basically, if I understand correctly, Buddhism discredits the existance of souls, yet Wiccans, to my understanding, hold souls and spirits close to their religion.

1. First of all, what religion do you claim to follow?
Buddhism
Do you believe in ghosts?
not really, though I think emotions and ideas dead people had can linger on their possesions
Do you believe that UFOs are alien visitors?
no
Do you support the theory of evolution?
yes
2. About your religion/beliefs/creed
How many gods are in your religion?
um, as many as there are people on earth, potentially all people are the Buddha
Does your religion require you to convert others to your faith?
no, but it's considered good to introduce others to this practice, even if they reject it
Can worship be performed at home only?
yes, but what does that have to do with anything?
What is your religion's stance on class society?
I'd guess it'd be against class society, since all people have the potential to be the Buddha, they shouldn't be seperated by class
positions on drugs/sex/homosexuality
I don't think there's really an official position on the sex and gomosxuality part of that, but everyone is really tolerant, as to the drugs (I assume you mean the illegal kind), drugs are discouraged because they harm a person and hurting anyone is one of the worst things you can do, since everyone has this Buddha nature inside them, so it's like going against Buddha
