That was a confusing article for someone from the US. "John Lewis" really threw me because John L. Lewis was a union bigwig who was part of forming the US CIO. And then there's also John Lewis the congressman.

I don't understand why you titled this thread "IWW split?"
Did I miss something in the article?

Because it says the cleaner's branch is splitting from the IWW and forming another union, the IWGB. Two different unions with different history and tradition. (Talks all about the IWGB being formed in 1909, etc.)

If they split back in 1909 then this isn't a problem. Solidarity with the IWGB.
