I just finished watching Leningrad Cowboys Go America, which was good but a lot more silly than Aki's other films I've seen. I highly recommend checking out this guy's work. All of his works have to do with working-class individuals dealing with the daily conflicts of living under a consumerist society/capitalist system, with Marxist overtones (I remember the main character in Shadows in Paradise telling someone else, "workers have no country").

Shadows in Paradise and The Match Factory Girl are my personal favorites.
