So, i was wondering, how often to nazis show up at these shows? especially the hardcore punk, or at least not pop-punk stuff?I've never seen it in the Bay Area or Los Angeles. I remember there'd be lots of right-wing straight-edge or skinhead (though not obviously racist or anti-racist, more apolitical & right-leaning) guys at shows in Sacramento in the 90s.
I think since the late 80s they tend to have their own shows, but I could be wrong, that was before my time - or at least before I was old enough to go out to see bands.

totaly depends on your area and the music style.
OI and streetpunk in europe? standard. crust? never. hardcore? depends on your area..
as far as i heard in the US in the big cities nazi's are not common at hardcore shows but in rural area's they are. also there is in the US a big "i swear i'm not nazi i'm an patriot but ill still beat up fags and muzzies and assault girls" crowd that is pretty much tolerated in the non-political macho hardcore scene...

But seriously, avoiding them is the best idea if you don't want to put up with them, or if you are non-white or non-straight. Chances are there will be more Nazis and "patriots" at these shows than commies so unless you have a big group of friends a brawl wouldn't go over too well.

Become friendly with the o.k. crowd that can hold their own. Nazis are the biggest cowards, dont pick fights (unless you know you will come out on top) but dont take shit either. Keep your overtly political clothes at home until your adopted by an cool crew. When I used to hang in the skinhead and non political hardcore scene nazis avoided me as the plague because I was friendly with al the a-political/labourite guys, picking fights with afa o.k. but if they picked fights with that lot they couldn't visit an non Nazi show ever again.

You're not likely to find any nazis at punk shows on the west coast, unless you go to see big bands. But even then, they usually keep a low profile.
If you come to shows out here, you're likely to see them, but again, they won't fly any colors, they'll cover their tattoos, and they won't start anything unless there is a lot of them, and even then, they usually don't do anything, and nobody does anything to them.

I went to the Rockstar metal mayhem fest a couple years ago in MA and there was a couple Nazis there with no shirts on and swastika tats wide open. One had his swastika around his belly button LMAO  No confrontation or anything but if I had some backup things might have went a little different.
