Assassination Attempt

This happened not too long ago, but I never saw any threads on it. So...

There was an attempt on Pervez Musharraf. It failed thankfully.
If he were to be killed, I'm sure there would be a huge power vacuum. Whomever were to gain power would have access to nuclear weapons, and that wouldn't be good for anybody. Are there any safeguards to prevent these weapons from getting in the hands of the wrong people? This outlines the importance of ridding the world of all nuclear weapons. The threat of having them is too great.

The thing you need to remember about Musharraf is he gained power through a coup d'etate. While doubtlessly brillant, I do not care for him. He is the worst type of dicator, an American puppet.

Should all countries be allowed to have them? If opition 1 is not a option (which it is not) Yes.

Agreed, but the person he overthrew was extremely corrupt (Nawaz Sharif). I would contend that he (Musharraf) is a better leader.

Of course I'm sure he's corrupt as well :P

all weapons used for nothing but the savage killing of other human beings should be banned. nuclear weapons expecially. of course im sure there will be some instances where some power crazy sicko will start making his own nukes but we are taking the wrong course of action in stopping these instances from happening. take for example the war between america and iraq. america actually is stupid enough to declare war on iraq for the assumtion that they were making chemical weapons and yet america is one of the leading countries in the manifacture of these killing devices. i mean, america were the ones that GAVE saddam the weapons. if your not going to let other countries harbor these things that how is it fair that you are allowed to have them yourself. its not right. war is not right. killing is not right. we cant stop everyone from killing ppl and take away all the weapons of the world but if countries stop producing them and stop researching on them then that would be a huge start.

Musharraf is nothing but a corpse rotting away in a useless rule over Pakistan. It will not be surprising if Islamists end up overthrowing him. This assassination attempt will not be the last.

Since wen was saddam stupid enough to ever use his chemical weapons on Isreal or america? sure he did use them during the gulf war (the first one) wen he was invaded but thats inderstandable, if he had used them out of the blue he would have known that it was an american invite. What i dont understand however is the fact that sum nations (america, britian, russia etc...) can have these weapons and can just deprive the third world of them.

I honestly do believe that the on going hostility between Pakistan and India is a cause for allot more concern than saddam ever was!

It now seems that if you have any gaurantee that you wont get invaded its because youve got the nukes. im for nukes for security reasons only!

I agree that the fighting in pakastine and India is a major problem, however I also have a problem with North Korea, (maybe it has something to do with liveing on the west coast which their ICBMs can reach) I think America has made so many enemys that if a true leader where ever to emerge from them, that would be the end of us....
