I am a fan of alternative and political comedy, in the vein of Stewart Lee, Bill Hicks and Alexei Sayle. I was wondering if anyone else on here had an interest in this kind of comedy?

One film that comes to mind is Woody Allen's Bananas.

(been on a Woody Allen bender lately)

That looks pretty good I will definitely watch that at some point. Strangely enough I never actually watched a Woody Allen film, well apart from Antz as child but that doesn't really count.

I am a big fan of Jon Stewart, Stephan Colbert and occasionally watch Bill Maher's show as well.

If you want some really funny political comedy though just start watching fox news.

I like the daily show too Valdmir Makarov, John Oliver does a very funny satire podcast with Andy Zaltzman called The Bugle which is excellent. I have seen clips of Stephan Colbert online too and he seems hilarious but you are right not quite as funny as Fox News that we can inexplicably watch in the UK if you have Sky TV which Rupert Murdoch owns along with a fair chunk of the other media.

George Carlin is great, I also enjoy Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert (even if they are liberal scum :D)

I'm also a big fan of George Carlin and Bill Hicks, and that Glenn Beck guy is pretty funny too.

Seriously, are we going to start listing off conservative and liberal commentators, politicians, etc.?

Love Bill Hicks, Stewart Lee, Carlin, Mark Thomas...in terms of a tv show, has to be The Thick of It and the In The Loop movie spin off.
