Would anyone be interested in debating against opposing ideologies to our own on facebook? I have a friend who is a libertarian so I am constantly being flooded by posts from the lassiez faire capitalism page as well as several others and the topics are covered incompletely and childishly, and I'd love to shut them up.

I figure that debating opposing ideologies is often fun when there are enough participants from both sides so if anyone would be interested leave a comment here. I intend on running the debates from a community page which I have been thinking of calling "socialism =/= government" or something like that. Anyone who is uncomfortable using their real identity in debates will he permitted access to this page and we'll just have multiple users post their arguments/responses through the page.

What are your goals for your page? If you start it up what specific intention is it that you hope to accomplish?

I suppose the specific goal would be to combat the monopoly on radical politics which is enjoyed by libertarianism today. As has been noted on this site recently, libertarianism is growing amongst young people, and I trace this growth to a growing anti-establishment sentiment, and a misunderstanding of what the "driving factor" of the establishment is. The goal of these debates would be to promote our ideas in contrast to a growing "radical" (I suppose libertarianism is atleast intended to be radical) ideology, and in the process offer an alternative current of revolutionary politics.

An important part of spreading your page's message towards the masses is having other pages which network and share your own. Do you have any links to such pages or are you going to be starting out from the bottom? Mind you that having any leftist page means it is never going to be the most popular to begin with.

I don't have connections to any other pages, but I have no problem making other ones myself, reaching out to pre-existing pages, or cooperating with others to form new pages. And yes I am very much aware that the pages will not be very popular at their onset, but I hope to atleast be able to set up a platform for the promotion of our ideas across social media.
