A mosque in southwest Missouri has burned to the ground in the second fire to hit the Islamic centre in little more than a month.

The Jasper County Sheriff's Office said the Islamic Society of Joplin centre was destroyed after the early Monday blaze.

No injuries are reported and no charges have been filed.

About 50 families belong to the Islamic Society of Joplin, which opened in 2007 as a mosque and community centre.

A blaze at the same building on July 4 caused minor damage and was determined arson.

No arrests were made and the FBI has offered a $15,000 reward for information leading to charges in that fire.

The agency released video footage of what appeared to be a man starting the July blaze.Source

Following hot on the heels of the gurdwara shooting. Presumably unrelated, but there's certainly something about the timing here...

All they would have to do is exclaim "FREEDURM OF SPEECH HURR DURR!" and everyone would take their side.

While conservative media outlets do serve to shape national conscioussness to an extent, there are also more materially founded factors which promote such attitudes. Chief amongst them would have to be the antagonistic relations of exchange which pit all participants in the market against one another. This trend shapes a definite pattern of perception in which people come to view difference (that which they themselves do not identify with) as the enemy.

Yes, there was two reported instances in which the mosque was burned. The last one succeeded. On the good side all of Joplin is covered with billboards by the police trying to capture the one responsible.
