Wow, and also in the news of late, the Kurds are saying they are the ones that provided the intel on his capture.

Like I said, you don't capture somebody like Saddam alive. If I was Saddam I would have killed myself and I wouldn't have been found in Iraq if found at all. Nor would they have taken me without a struggle, unlike his sons who had a gun fight to avoid being captured.

It is a big bargaining chip to say to somebody, "How much better do you think your approval ratings would go up if I was captured alive. Enough to get you elected again?"

If anybody knows how to get a hold of CIA ops to pass a message like that along it would be Saddam.

I think he also said something to the fact of, "I want to negotiate my surrender" to the people that captured him. Or did he perhaps say, "I negotiated my surrender" in an english as a second language voice to adrenaline pumped soldiers?
