Brilliant and moving documentary about the black struggle in America, using documentary footage filmed by a group of Swedes that followed the struggle - it has since been put together by a contemporary Swedish filmmaker. It is cut together with a great commentary from people like Angela Davis, Talib Kweli, Bobby Seale and others.

It doesn't have a wikipedia page which, to me, suggests the need for more people to watch it. Its the most honest and coherent account of the black struggle I've seen in documentary-format.

I especially enjoyed the bits that documented the Black Panther's community organizing, highlighting that they were a revolutionary force which way beyond common assumptions about them being concerned with violence solely, although I know that people on here understand that. Great footage that shouldn't be unseen.

I also recommend another swedish documentary about America, it is called "At Night I Fly" and is located in Folsom Prison. It won a prize for the best swedish documentary of the year. As you can see on both documentaries is that they premiered on "Folkets Bio" and this means "The peoples cinema" and it is a socialist organisation. Folkets Bio have about 15 cinemas in Sweden.

It was very informative. I would recommend it to anyone who's curious about the panthers, or the black power movement in general.
