First, let me get the message across that i'm horrible with introductions so the rest of this message doesn't sound too bad.
Nice to meet you all. I'm an Australian who's chosen to become very politically open minded over the past few months. This is partly because a number of personal and exterior happenings in my life have strongly changed the view I have over both me and a lot of other people I know as well.
I had always been politically engaged, but in a very ignorant fashion where I did not advocate based on logic, but rather I supported with zealotism the political party who's values vaguely sounded like my own. Now that I am beginning my career, I would really enjoy learning about Socialism as a whole (something I have always supported but never really learnt much about). After reading 'The Communist manifesto' and the labour theory of value, I am enjoying taking a few steps forward towards better economic and political awareness.
sadly, I made the terrible mistake of reading these forums before bothering to read any socialist literature, and am now knowledgably distraught with confusion and cognitive dissonance.
After reading some of Karl Marx's writings, I identify strongly with most of his core ideals. I also pertain to the idea of anarchy but know too little about it to make a personal judgement.
Anyway, now that I have an account, i'd really like to get involved in the big community here and meet all of you. After lurking for around a month I can safely say that you people are a brilliant lot, and I hope to see you on the forums.
