What's it like being a communist in France?
Hmm I'm not entirely sure since I've just been a couple of months here but I feel people are more open minded compared to the U.S where I lived for quite a good time, Of course you find all type of people, but people I've met do not seem to be completely brainwashed by the media, government or religion probably most of them can ignore facts but they do not defend blindly the system considering themselves patriots or soldiers of freedom and liberty as many in USA..
to be honest I've met no christians at all here so that's a break from their bible bashing  now about the french political spectrum eventough it's full neo-cons/neo-liberals/reformists there's at least compared to the states a spot for the ''left'' in the ''Front de gauche'' being a mixed coalition of parties of the left with their different tendencies, I do not intend to offend comrades here but this coalition ranges from anticapitalists varied, revisionist eurocommunists & trotskysts, ecologists, progressists, social democrats, etc the only party which I seem to be in agreement with it's the Parti Communiste des Ouvriers de France, PCOF (Worker's Communist Party of France) due to their fundamental consideration of Hoxha and his words on Anti-Revisionism.. but so far so good I'm not being crucified or looked strange for my ideas which is awesome so it has been quite an experience to be a communist in france if this answer your question hehe :)
and thanks again to all for your posts!
