Google?

The Jacobin religion. If I was ever an Idealist, I'd ascribe to TCOTSP because it sounds badass.

I don't see the need for it, but I suppose it is better than conventional religion.

Question, are you referring to Deism as a whole here, or just The Cult of the Supreme Being?

Because I have several friends who identify as Deists, and they have nothing to do with the Jacobin state religion.

If you mean "do people still subscribe to belief in a deity that administers divine justice, though not one that is necessarily the God described in the abrahamic faiths" than yes, absolutely.

But if your asking if the specific ideology espoused by the Cult still exists, than no. This specific form of state deism rose out of the percieved need of a restoration of hierarchical order following the seizure of political power by the French bourgiose.

Oh, and if your looking for kickass religions than the Cult of Reason (the revolutionary state ideology preceding this one) and god-building are much cooler.

What answers do you expect from a question like that?

First, the Cult of the Supreme Being died out a long time ago.
Second, you do not want to discuss it, but only deride it.

You posted this in the "history" section, a place where history is to be DISCUSSED.

This is not the "circlejerk" section.

^This

And the Cult of Reason was basically atheistic. A super idealistic version of secular humanism for its day and age.

Why do you always capitalise things that don't need capitalised? It's weird.

Really, because I find it exceedingly "weird", regarding the fact that you never really thouroughly reply to a thread, regarding the actual subject. So much to the point where I wouldn't at all be surprised if half of your entire post count, was composed of cheap one liners like "No, not really" and "[Hey, while you're all discussing an important subject] Hurrr u spelled something wrong lol"

I don't see why this is important.

That's about right, yes. How do you think I achieved such a respectable post:rep ratio? The people like cheap one-liners, and I am a generous god.
