As I said in the tattoo thread, I have been thinking about getting a tattoo of a quote across my upper chest with a red star underneath. So far the leader is: "The Freedom of All is Essential to my Freedom."

And suggestions, as I am not sure I want an anarchist quote given my tendency; although to a large extent I still consider it the basis of my politics.

don't get a script tattoo.
it's just one step above tribal in the tattoo hierarchy.

just sticking with an image, symbol, etc. is a better idea, trust me.

No offence but that freedom quote just sounds lame.

Don't get a tat just to show off your politics like that, you'll probably regret it or grow out of it at some point.

My advice would be to only get a tattoo when you get an idea of something you really want to get, not just that you really want to get any tattoo.

If you do really just wanna get a tattoo, then get something without writing that won't piss you off later on! ;)

Take other people's opinions of your tattoo ideas well salted cause otherwise you'll never end up getting a tattoo.

Trust me, I already have tattoos (non-political) and I am not going to let the naysayers change my mind. :p I think I am going to wait till I find a quote I really want though, the Bakunin one is more from my anarchist days.

I think that quote is to long to be executed well on your chest. It would have to be in two lines, and that wouldn't be particularly asthetically pleasing in my opinion.

I'm not really big on lettering, like, I think it looks cool when its done well, but its not for me. I have a pretty big stomach rocker thats all cholo'd out, but I'm covering it.

That is a great quote though, Marxist or not, and its also plain and simple, and easily relatable to. I say you go for it.
