Recently an archeologist discovered that ancient Greek and Roman statues, contrary to popular belief, were actually brightly painted. Unfortunately, most looked horribly cheesy...

Only as an adult did I realize that Greek art was as colorful as the above examples.

In a world without photography or video or even printing presses, brightly colored statues would seem to far more preferable then bland white marble, also on the subject of greek/roman statues for some reason these kinds of have always creeped me out

They look much better now. They looked corny as shit like that. Maybe in 1500 years iPads and McDonalds signs will seem really esoteric and beautiful to people.

That's actually very old news :lol:
but I guess the world is out of new stuff happening on it, so journalists have to repeat news every once in a while :lol:
