I just got this book yesterday. It has an intriguing thesis -- that postmodern art (at least in the US) -- is in essence psychedelic art or art informed by psychedelic experience.
It occasionally stretches a bit too far, but not any further many other cultural theorists. The author is deeply literate in art criticism, art history, and contemporary art so and haven't come across any errors. He pretty much sticks to American art. The only parts I found maybe not quite right were race and gender, but I'd have to reread them.
And the pictures are nice.

Tried looking for reviews, but didn't find anything too hot.
