This is not a joke. in Iran, prices are rising day by day and some goods are not available in markets anymore. People are gathering in long lines just to get their basic needs like chicken. Religious leaders have asked people to stop eating chickens and army generals have asked television to stop showing scenes which involve chicken!

There was a demonstration in neishabour (north east of Iran) few days ago. People protested against the government which is not able (or willing) to secure their basic needs. The government claims that foreign sanctions are causing the shortage. But the real reason is the governments economic policy. All of productive industries are closing and only branch of economy which is profitable is imports, which is disturbed by sanctions. But people have to pay the final price. Merchants who are linked with Irans government simply transfer the burden to ordinary people and government itself has the main rule in inflation by cutting subsidies and rising prices of bread, fuel, milk and …

Since the inflation rate is very high, People are changing their savings to foreign currencies or gold. Unemployment rate is rising and with it comes addiction, prostitution, crime, human trafficking and …

Instead of finding a solution, the government only uses force to stop a social explosion. Despite the ruined economy, military budget was raised 117% this year and billion dollars goes directly to religious institutions. Tens of people are being executed each week, some of them are political prisoners (like 4 men who were recently executed in ahvas) but most of them are ordinary criminals like robbers, murderers, smugglers and rapers. In some cases they cut thiefs hands or fingers. Lashing is a common punishment even for small crimes. Islamists claim that this is necessary for purging the society but crime rates are constantly rising.

Governmental corruption is very high, officials are stealing hundreds of millions (and sometimes more than a billion dollars) and escaping from the country. During the factional conflicts between conservatives and neo conservatives, both sides exposed the others cases of corruption, but at the end they are sitting in their so called "parliament" and ministry offices while people have to suffer from their corruption.

Smallest protests are being suppressed and protesters are accused of "act against national security". Several worker and student activists are in prison. Any possibility (even an illusion) for a peaceful reform was destroyed many years ago. If present day "Reformists" are still preaching such things, its not because they really believe them. Because of their bourgeoisie position, they are more afraid of a revolution than a backward and corrupt government which suppresses even them.

If 2009 protests were mostly "intellectual" and were held mostly by petty bourgeoisie, the upcoming protests (or perhaps a revolution) will be held by workers and toilers. The demands of these people are formulated into a slogan by Iranian communists: Work – Bread – Freedom – Soviet state. Lets make a revolution with this slogan an alternative for a war which is being provoked by both islamists and imperialists.

Let's just hope America doesn't try and hijack it or Israel doesn't try and start a war before they have a chance to overthrow the regime. What political direction does this appear to be heading in?

videos of neishabour demonstration are available on youtube and people who were executed in ahvaz are three brothers: Abbas, Taha and Abdolrahman Heidarian and mr Ali Sharifi. five more political prisoners will be executed in next weeks. they are writers, teachers and student activists. they have never committed any crime.

God I hate shitty religion.

I think we could get a situation similar to Syria happening in Iran if Assad falls.

I want this democratic revolutions not only spread thought the middle east and thought the entire world.
