I am hoping this thread will be beneficial for aspiring musicians of revleft to discuss their projects, share experiences making music, and possibly share some of their work.

I realize we already have a thread for musicians to share their work, so my suggestion is to post examples only if it is absolutely necessary to make the point you're trying to make.

Really, this thread should be seen as a sort of Pour Your Heart Out, What's on Your Mind, Say What You Want type of thread, but specifically dealing with issues musicians face.

The reason I am starting this thread is mostly because I need to get some stuff off my chest, I really wanted to share some of my experiences as a musician, that involve a lot of personal issues, some political stuff, and some basic music theory as well (I say basic because I'm no expert on the subject. Feel free to get as deep as you want). In this respect, it could also be considered a Practice and Propaganda type thread for politically minded musicians.

Feel free to discuss genres, lyrical content, equipment, working with others, home production techniques, getting gigs, promoting your music, album artwork, distribution media (record, tapes, cd's, internet) and anything else directly related to your musical endeavors.

With that said I will post my personal experiences on the next post, leaving this post strictly to describe the purpose of the thread.

Actually, it's kind of late. Was going to do like a short history of my musical endeavors, since I started to learn music way back in middle school where I joined the school band.

Unfortunately, it's rather late here (or rather I should say early), so I should really hit the hay. Maybe tomorrow if I still feel like it.

Suffice it to say that I have never been happy with playing music with other people. My proudest musical achievements have been when I do home production stuff. The exception to this was when I was in high school, although this was because I was a pretty shitty egoist, very controlling of the projects I was involved in, and underhandedly replaced good friends I was in bands with, because I didn't like how they played. Some people may not have a problem with this, since if a particular musician in a band isn't working out, and the rest of the members sort of have a consensus with you that they're not working out, there are still ways to go about this that aren't sneaky and conniving.

Anyhow, I will talk more sometime later.
