Scotlands third first minister has now been sworn in and already the stories of his past are making the news.
He has admitted to cheating on his wife, apparentley he was advised to do this before the story broke of its own accord.
Also he is said to have warned an editor at a local paper
to be careful about what is printed in the future.

After Henry Mcleish resigning in disgrace( he let his party office out privately and when this was discovered he claimed he had made £9000 from it.However when the sums were done it ended up at £36,000. To top it all off he now is entitled to a £34,000 a year pension for life on top of his other earnings) I had hoped Labour would try and sort themselves out. No chance

There is no real Labour Party any more, north or south of the border.
BTW,is the Scottish Socialist Party the re-naming of the old Scottish Militant, and if so is Tommy Sheridan still involved?Or is it a coalition like the Socialist Alliance here in the South?

The SSP is basically the old Militant and SWP but is officially a new party rather than coalition.
Tommy Sheridan is the top man and is presently our only MSP (although that will change at the next Scottish elections). It is a sign of the respect Tommy gets from people considering the tabloid press do everything in its power to discredit him.
Considering the party got 72,000 votes at the last election, it is a scandal that the daily record just pretended the SSP didn`t exist.

Good to hear he's still going strong.I had the pleasure of hearing him speak at an anti-nazi rally in Glasgow in '94 or'95(god I'm getting old, memory going fast!)Yes,mucho respect. Also voted for him in elections shortly after that,He came second to Labour unfortunately, but the tory came fourth and lost his deposit. That cheered me up a bit.
