I found this story sweeping around the internet and i think it will be fun to talk about it
God really is awesome and always in control!
I went to a sermon recently where a pastor told us that his mother almost slaughtered him in the womb. She almost had him vacuumed out and stomped on and thrown into a rubbish bin.... but, no, God had other plans.
Pastor Billy Bob was born with Anencephaly, a condition in which the person is born without a brain. Now, those apetheist doctors said he wouldn't survive, they said he would never amount to anything, but they were wrong. Billy Bob grew up happy and healthy in a good Christian home with lots of Christian education. When he was 16 he got his doctorate degree in Divinity and went on to minister to the world about the love and grace of Jesus Christ.
Pastor Billy Bob is now a proud minister of a congregation of 10,000 believers. Had God not intervened and stopped the apetheist doctors from slaughtering him in the womb because he didn't have a brain he would never have gone to college and brought to so many people to Christ.
Amen!
Ok i have some questions for you to answer:
1. How do you think people believe in such thinks?
2. How harmful such stories are to society?
3. Has humanity any chance to abandon religion in the near future?
Pleas Ignore the poll,typing error

I don't understand the poll. Are you asking us whether we want you to keep us informed with news about religion and superstition? Then why quote an obviously satirical piece?

I actually thought that anencephaly is when the fetus lacks the neocortex/neopallium, not the entire brain. Anyways, the Catholic and the Orthodox higher clergy is composed of some of our society's most intelligent and naturally gifted members, this whole "clergy are brainless idiots" thing is pretty false but maybe applicable to Protestants.
o well this is ok I guess

A liberal muslim homosexual ACLU lawyer professor and abortion doctor was teaching a class on Karl Marx, known atheist
”Before the class begins, you must get on your knees and worship Marx and accept that he was the most highly-evolved being the world has ever known, even greater than Jesus Christ!”
At this moment, a brave, patriotic, pro-life Navy SEAL champion who had served 1500 tours of duty and understood the necessity of war and fully supported all military decision made by the United States stood up and held up a rock.
”How old is this rock, pinhead?”
The arrogant professor smirked quite Jewishly and smugly replied “4.6 billion years, you stupid Christian”
”Wrong. It’s been 5,000 years since God created it. If it was 4.6 billion years old and evolution, as you say, is real… then it should be an animal now”
The professor was visibly shaken, and dropped his chalk and copy of Origin of the Species. He stormed out of the room crying those liberal crocodile tears. The same tears liberals cry for the “poor” (who today live in such luxury that most own refrigerators) when they jealously try to claw justly earned wealth from the deserving job creators. There is no doubt that at this point our professor, DeShawn Washington, wished he had pulled himself up by his bootstraps and become more than a sophist liberal professor. He wished so much that he had a gun to shoot himself from embarrassment, but he himself had petitioned against them!
The students applauded and all registered Republican that day and accepted Jesus as their lord and savior. An eagle named “Small Government” flew into the room and perched atop the American Flag and shed a tear on the chalk. The pledge of allegiance was read several times, and God himself showed up and enacted a flat tax rate across the country.
The professor lost his tenure and was fired the next day. He died of the gay plague AIDS and was tossed into the lake of fire for all eternity.

...what I am trying to say is that OP's story is likely a story like this. It's just a joke. No on is going to believe someone is currently living without a brain.

1. How do you think people believe in such thinks?
Very well.
3. Has humanity any chance to abandon religion in the near future?
I don't think so. It's been with us from the very start, and abandoning it would be hard in the near future. Also, some people have no other place to turn to than church/mosque/whatever.

Stories about people living without a brain, or stories about wimply liberal college professors getting their comeuppance from some God-fearin' 'Murrican Mahreen?

Yes, people do believe in "Miraculous healing" stories, and stories where a college professor gets "oustsmarted" by a kid, but the story the OP is obviously a satirical exaggeration of a healing stories. No one with half a brain would believe such a story.
PS: And I don't understand the poll question.

What do you base this on? Just because someone makes it to the top of a hierarchy doesn't mean they are gifted or intelligent. It means they are good at working their way to the upper levels of a hierarchy.
I am not aware of much interesting philosophy or literature currently being produced by the upper echelons of the Catholic or Greek churches other than the "semi-heretic" Matthew Fox. Liberation Theology made important contributions but that was decades ago.The Russian Orthodox church currently is a sick reactionary joke.

Gee wiz OP why in tarnation wasn't there a link to an actual news article included with that heart touching story?
There are literally thousands of fake stories about how great christianity is circulating around on the web these days, kinda like how they have circulated around Europe and the Americas by word of mouth for hundreds of years. It's not like Christianity hasn't managed to do some good in some peoples lives over the years but I also don't find it supriseing that the group that has had a tendency to oppress, murder, enslave, lie, steal, cheat (pretty much anything they say they do not condone) must make up heart warming yet entirely fiction and ridiculace stories that, not supriseing the gullible and stupid masses see as grounds to convert their friends on.
