I have recently taken an incredible fascination in Prussian history, especially in terms of its military history (I have always been greatly interested in military history). I find it interesting how historians have described Prussia as "...not a state with an army, but an army with a state" and how even though the nation was controlled by a semi-absolutist monarch and the military, it was able to advance in many areas such as economy and thought. It's really curious.
Anyway, I was wondering if anybody else here has any interest or knowledge on Prussia and whether they can suggest any books on the topic of Prussian history and/or military. I have "On War" by Carl von Clausewitz at the top with Das Kapital on my booklist, so I think that's a good starting point.
