Obviously "retard" is; is "dolt" comparable?

I'd say no because I've heard nobody use that word except in old fiction.

First used as a noun in Early Modern English, from English dialectal dold (“stupid, confused”), from Middle English dold, a variant of dulled, dult (“dulled”), past participle of dullen, dollen (“to make dull, make stupid”), from dull, dul, dwal (“stupid”). More at dull.

Do you consider dull to be a slur?

i was wondering as well, is calling something "lame" taboo here, since it could be offensive to the handicapped?

"Dolt" is a slur only when used to refer to me.

Otherwise it's a perfectly acceptable form of address for 99% of the Revleft crowd, including yourself.

Take my word for it; I know.

Sincerely,
