Yes, indeed. A claim is just a claim. It has no truth value without evidence by which it can be tested. As Wolfgang Pauli said, "it's not even wrong!"

I think the key to the article is this paragraph:

In other words, he's written a book that may sell all of twelve copies unless he can generate a ton of publicity somehow. Say, by coming up with some sensationalistic and completely unverifiable claim that will get him a lot of media coverage.
