The U.S. government now legally controls all communication within the country.

US President Barack Obama quietly signed his name to an Executive Order on Friday, allowing the White House to control all private communications in the country in the name of national security.
President Obama released his latest Executive Order (http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2012/07/06/executive-order-assignment-national-security-and-emergency-preparedness-#.T_sYsRJrreM.twitter)on Friday, July 6, a 2,205-word statement offered as the Assignment of National Security and Emergency Preparedness Communications Functions. And although the president chose not to commemorate the signing with much fanfare, the powers he provides to himself and the federal government under the latest order are among the most far-reaching yet of any of his executive decisions.
The Federal Government must have the ability to communicate at all times and under all circumstances to carry out its most critical and time sensitive missions, the president begins the order. Survivable, resilient, enduring and effective communications, both domestic and international, are essential to enable the executive branch to communicate within itself and with: the legislative and judicial branches; State, local, territorial and tribal governments; private sector entities; and the public, allies and other nations.

Yep. The U.S. doesn't even have the illusion of free speech anymore.

And capitalism owns the government. Marx, Manifesto: "The executive of the modern State is but a committee for managing the common affairs of the whole bourgeoisie." In advanced capitalist countries, capitalism controls people in mind as well as body.

Capitalism is a system, and its globalization means that it is now the human ecosystem within which humanity thinks as well as works.

I can't find any sources for this that aren't from Alex Jones-types (or Alex Jones himself) or disreputable papers like Russia Today. And the actual executive order on the White House site itself, while it's difficult to parse the legalese, appears to have more to do with directing already existent agencies to secure open lines of communication in case of an emergency.

A lot of this stuff is already done and has been for years. The President's always been able to interrupt regular broadcasting, for example, to address the nation.

Here is the link to the actual Executive Order if anyone wants to read it. It's on the White House's website so it's legitimate:

That may be true, but it is hilariously anti-american, which should count for something.

Honestly, I have no idea why revolutionary leftists find these types of stories significant. Does anyone doubt that the US or any other government will do everything possible to stifle open communication during a time of revolt or crisis? Does it really matter that those powers are formalized? They'd do it anyway, if push came to shove.

Just like Fox News is hilariously Vice Versa but in the end they're still the same thing.
