Hello,

My fiance and I are moving to Croatia soon and we (or at least one of us) will need a job.

I am applying online, mostly for teaching jobs or some low level project work where English language is needed and Croatian language isn't needed.

My fiance is Turkish and speaks fluent English.

If anyone here can help or has additional advice that would be great.

Any location is fine, maybe Zagreb, Pula, Split, Zadar or Dubrovnik.

Thanks,

Karabin

Curious. Why did you pick Croatia?

Some advice I can offer you that comes straight to mind (Which goes for all Balkan nations) is to be wary when walking around at night alone. When I lived in Serbia I nearly got gangbashed for carrying a sports bag with the logo of a rival football team. There are a lot of hooligans out there.

Do you need any specific advice?

What does gangbashed mean? What country are you from?

I chose Croatia because I like the balkans and it's a great location for a base to access the rest of Europe.

I'm after any information on the types of jobs a native English speaker can get who doesn't speak Serbo-croat. I know there are some people on RevLeft from this area so maybe they know some recruitment agencies or some companies.

Also how much typical rent is in Zagreb, are there any reputable estate/letting agents etc.

I can find some stuff via google searches but without using Croatian I trend to get sites aimed at British people and it's expensive.
