Hi, i'v kind of looked onto the forums for a while and i'v finally decided to make an account.

I'm from the USA and I have pretty much been a Marxist since before I understood the term.

I don't really post too often on forums.. I'm mostly just hear to learn, hear other opinions etc! :)

Hi and welcome.

BTW, by 'Marxist' you must mean that you're an objective communist. No one is a Marxist without understanding what it really means.

I think he is saying he understands the term now, but identified with it prior to his understanding it.

Anyway welcome comrade!

Welcome, comrade!

Might we perhaps hear a bit more of your political ideas? :)

My political ideas? Well I guess I just discovered the theories of Karl Marx and Engels on Class struggle, Materialism, etc which really clicked with the way I thought. That was a few years ago though.

My parents (especially my father) are pretty much die hard Liberals. Though I have become completely disillusioned with any form of Liberalism, simply by looking around me. I'm still working on talking them out of it though!

Anarchist thought seemed appealing to me originally but it just seems a tad idealistic. (Kind of reminds me of Liberalism in some ways actually) But I think sometimes the differences between Anarchists and Marxists really just comes down to semantics. I'm not sectarian. As far as "statism" goes however, I think Proletarians have to seize the state in the interests of their own class and move towards communism.

As far as Trotsky, Stalin, Lenin and all that goes... I just try to stay away from that. I hate it when leftists fight over which dead Russian guy had the coolest hairstyle or whatever. Lenin adopted "Vanguard party" and all that to suit the needs of ass backwards Russia. I respect Lenin. I respect all the Bolsheviks. That said I do not think the Soviet Union was anything but a State-Capitalist entity. (Because of it's sub optimal material conditions, and failure of revolutions in western industrialized countries)

There is more too. But I guess I just highlighted these things because this site is soooo sectarian.

Great to see another comrade. I'm also new here. I suppose we have a bit in common, at least.

Welcome! The sectarianism you note is characteristic of the left overall, and it goes hand-in-hand with a left conservatism to which you point with your "fighting over dead Russians" observation.

There hasn't been a real advance in revolutionary organizing theory in the West since the Russian Revolution, at least. I'll locate this organizational stasis even earlier: the deaths of Marx and Engels. They were unable to successfully organize revolutionary processes, and modern Marxists have abandoned organizational theory to wallow in the classics and fight over dead Russians.

We can do better, can't we, Comrade? We sure as hell need to, in any case.

My red-green best.
