yeah, the action film aesthetics of this video reek of lumpen hooliganism. Not that I condemn that stuff. If people want to fight fascist hooligans physically I donīt have a problem.

I used to train kids in Muay thai in the past and I wouldn't reccommend an awful lot of that stuff as training. Hitting a large tyre with a sledgehammer is supposed to achieve what exactly? Still, nice to see a club as cool as that though.

I ve seen many MMA fighters do that.
Speaking of which, kinda relevant...

After seeing all of these Nazi groups training for combat it made me wonder where the hell the leftist street groups were. Thanks for sharing.

Still, nice to see a club as cool as that though. i'v trained in muay thai and kickboxing for years, and think it probably some of best training there is. Also i hardly ever hit a tire with a sledgehammer. As far as whether it is useful for antifa, well i cannot see it be worse than any of the other main martial arts.

This is pretty sweet. I've trained in Muay Thai and Krav Maga for several years and this looks like something I'd be interesting in joining (never did the sledgehammer/tire thing though). Thanks for the vid.

It's apart of strength and conditioning - it's meant to be mixed with other workouts and nutrition. But you obviously get the idiots who think it's there to make you look hard.
But my god they can make you look like a tank if done properly.
That's also wicked you trained kids in Muay Thai, great sport. But yes, it's not the best form of street-fighting skill, but then again. Elbowing a fascist 12-6 on the floor on their eye brows must be so satisfying.

If nothing else this can be our back up plan if a revolution doesn't happen. Let the cappies die of obesity and out live them by staying atleast marginally in shape.

The tire workout is fairly common although I've never done it. I get a lot of flak for being skeptical of DIY self defense type groups or workshops or whatever but if the people demonstrating how to defend or attack don't know what they're doing bad habits get developed really fast and with the boom in MMA related stuff in the last 5-10 years there are a lot of people who don't know what they're doing but attempt to teach anyways.

Some the fighting stances are really weird looking to me, especially the way a lot of them are constantly on their toes, not standing flat footed.
And then the sparring at the end, most of them just flailing around and swinging haymakers for the head like its a bar fight, obviously they're not practicing technique enough.

I disagree. I think Muay thai along with others such as Ju-Jitsu are some of the best forms of martial arts out there. Its all well and good getting someone on the ground and beating his ass but what happens when you are jumped by more than one guy and made to stand to defend? I think Muay thai comes up best when its street fighting, there are no bad martial arts but some are better than others.
Here in Cork we run a small gym, maybe 30-40 members but we punch above our weight. We have had 2 World Champions in the past as well as a European Champion and countless national champions down through the years. We also host fights against other clubs from across Europe and sometimes even get thai fighters over here.

I didn't rewatch the video but it's likely a muay thai stance.

Being on your toes gives you extra speed withs regards kicking. You are probably thinking more along the lines of boxing were they are flat-footed when punching and one their toes when moving around. The power in a punch comes from your footwork and so the more of your foot on the ground when the punch is thrown the stronger it is. Try punching something whilst sitting down or with your legs dangling off a wall and you'll see what I mean. Kicking on the otherhand in the Muay Thai fashion requires speed and accuracy and so it needs to be thrown out there as fast as possible. The power in the standard roundhouse like in a punch comes from the ground also, so most of the standing foot is placed on the ground whilst kicking but only slightly raised in order to pivot the body at speed.
Its a pretty ferocious thing to recieve to the ribs, i've taken more than a few over the years. Watching a muay thai fight you wouldnt really appreciate how tough those kicks are.

The technique is pretty poor, especially with punching. One or two of them aren't too bad but a couple looked like John Wayne.

There's one of those 'human weapon' type shows that did a test of some sort regarding the power of muay thai knee strikes while in a clinch and I think it was equivalent to getting hit by a car moving at 25mph or something. I'll see if I can find the video.

Student protestors are fine and people studying Marx are fine and people participating in trade unions and Demos are all perfectly fine. But there has always been a side to the left that needed to be ruthless and agressive and confront Nazi's and Racist hooligans on the street and drive them backwards.
This tactic was extremely successful in England during the late 70's up to the early 90's. It really got going with the Lewisham riots in the 70's (or possibly 60's). The National Front of England used to attack leftist meetings and also attack anti-racist groups during a time when London was an absolute cauldron of different ethnic groups, religions and colours. All it took was for the NF to start a racist spark and the whole of London would be extremely divided and ghettoisation would be common as it is in France now. The far-right in the UK strongly appealed to racist bigotry in order to rid the UK of other cultures and attacked everyone, Indian, Jamacian, Pakistani, Irish, Black until the Anti-Nazi league was established to steward demos and defend against the far-right.
They then went on the offensive and beat eveyone from Blood and Honour, Combat 18 and the National Front. This forced the Far-right to end their campaign of "street warfare" and pursue a political route instead through the BNP. Its one of the ways we beat them (Violently that is) and London and the UK are a much better place thanks to the ANL, AFA and the Redskins.
The importance of what these groups did to prevent racist groups from gaining a foothold in the UK back them was an absolutely astonishing achievement and lost on the capitalist modern historians.
A good read about all this is "Beating the fascists - the untold story of anti-fascist action" by Sean Birchall.

The Knee clinch when delivered to the solar plexus at force has been known to generate enough power to send a grown man into cardiac arrest in extreme circumstances.

In my opinion the best two 'martial arts' to be used in a street fight are Krav Maga and Systema from which Krav Maga is developed by the Mossad and Systema is developed by the Spetznats (Russian elite military forces).
The main problem here in the Netherlands is that every Krav Maga/Systema school is either founded by the police or a mayority of the students there are policeman.
If you would ask me which one of these two I would pick I'd go for Systema because it has less 'rules' and is easier to combine with other martial arts.

Systema schools are oragnized by police too here. They even become special units later i think.
