Can we try to compile a list of example of the Democrats using the radical left and the working class/oppressed people and then screwing them over? It can be big historical events or small personal things you've dealt with.
I know this would be an endless list but I am interested to learn about more historical events involving this.
I have one personal one from a few days ago. My roommate was fired from Steve Stadelman's campaign for having been involved in the local Occupy movement.

The documentary "Lifting The Veil" might help you some...

Obama's election campaign?
Absolutely everything the Democrats, a bourgeois political party, do?

Yeah, a bit more specific. Stuff like when the Democrat Chicago mayor had all those protesters beat along time ago.
I'm looking for instances I can point to when showing how the Democrats are not our allies. And more than abstract political thought.

Iraq? Afghanistan? Vietnam? Guantanamo? Extension of the Bush Tax Cuts? Obamacare and its implications for the big insurance companies? The Clintons? LBJ?
The list is endless and i'm not even slightly an expert on these things.

Where to start?
Big ones would be like Woodrow Wilson and LBJ running on anti-war platforms and then immediately turning around and sending troops to WWI and Vietnam. The biggest is that the Democrats were the party of white supremacy and Jim Crow.
Of course those are old and will wash over a die-hard Dem-supporter. So it's nice to go to people they think are progressive. Bill Clinton is a great one because young liberals believe his 1990s conservative rivals when they say Clinton was extremely "liberal". Clinton's policies made the prison system explode. Regan may have set up the chess pieces, but Clinton was the one... well I don't have a chess metaphor for this . Anyway he's the one that spread 3-strikes laws while destroying welfare; he backed DOMA; he made it so that marijuana offenders and any drug offenders were banned for life from getting welfare or housing aid; he invaded more countries that Bush; he passed anti-terror and death penalty laws for the federal government; he made neo-liberalism the unquestioned political consensus; he left the campaign trail to make sure that an Arkansas prisoner who was so mentally impaired that he requested to finish his last meal in the morning was executed - and then bragged about it to the press; he passed many things that George Bush Sr. and Regan never would have and he paved the way for most of the things Bush Jr. did and Obama's doing.

They don't really backstab us, in fact they express how much they hate us at every opportunity. The only reason that they tolerate us, is that it is our "civil liberty" to advocate such a terrible cause. Republicans on the other hand are willing to skimp on "civil liberties" if it means hanging a few troublesome labor advocates. Hang them both high.

A good recent example is of course the Wisconsin recall election: when the Dems wanted to tunnel all of the outrage into their campaign. And of course the results were quite a defeat for the movement overall (not just because of the loss of the Democrat in the election, but the whole process)

Bill Clinton signed the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act into law and said that the rescinding of Glass-Steagall was a necessary step at the time. Not the whole act, but the part concerning any regulation over the financial industry. It changed regulation into a sort of honor code where the federal government conceded wall street was smart enough to regulate itself and could be trusted, hence allowing investment and commercial banks to merge for the first time since the depression for example. Also, he signed NAFTA into law which was certainly not done in the interest of the Mexican, American, or Canadian working class.
LBJ lied about the Gulf of Tonkin incident, or, rather, invented it in order to send thousands of working class conscripts to kill thousands of Vietnamese. JFK tiptoed around launching an invasion of Cuba (after the expatriates had tried and failed spectacularly, with vast US support) and initiating nuclear war only by the grace of god (while doing painfully little for civil rights during his time in office). Even the liberal icon FDR oversaw No-Strike policies during WWII to keep the assembly lines moving (albeit with the support of unions and very strong support from the Communist Party ironically). Of course, said Communists were no longer much to worry about during the succeeding Truman years, when he signed the Taft-Hartley act into law that outlawed socialists in labor union leadership and began to ramp up for the next red scare (along with expanding the war in korea, but thankfully not as much as Douglas MacArthur wanted too). And with Truman there's the whole topic of the atomic bombings.
This is a very incomplete list, just skimming the fat off the top really.

The notion of Democrats "backstabbing us" implies that they are somehow supposed to be on our side.

As "us", that does not just mean as revolutionary leftists. It means as workers and oppressed people. The Democrats use people like us as their voters, pretty sure that's common knowledge. They backstab us as a class.
So enough with these stupid comments, they aren't witty because it has been said a number of times in the thread already.
