Damn mother-fucking fucker fuck.
Did the court not recognize that rape is rape no matter the anatomy of the victim?:cursing: The rapist did not set out to rape a woman. He planned to rape that woman.

We have BashBack, so can we have RapeBack too?

No, honestly that wouldn't be fair. The rapist has serious enough issues to work out already.

"Man beats rape rap after victim found to be a man"

And this is in Sweden, a place some people seem to think is some sort of feminist, progressive utopia.

They also need to look up the definition of rape.

And for the sake of your sanity, don't read the comments. There's some disgusting transphobic and misogynistic crap being excreted all over the place.

I'll add this to my extremely long list of reasons why it's infuriating that American liberals think the whole of Scandinavia is some glorious "socialist" utopia.

As this woman was biologically a man, his intentions were impossible to commit as the rape could never be completed.

These kind of loopholes need to be removed in the law.

He didn't "walk" he's been convicted of assault and sentenced to 4 months in prison and has to pay 15,000 kronor.

Of course, this is just me being a bit pedantic, the fact it was an assault conviction is disgusting and reeks of discrimination. The fact she was trans means fuck all, it was attempted rape. The claim that "[a]s this woman was biologically a man, his intentions were impossible to commit as the rape could never be completed." is absurd. Her ex-boyfriend came rushing to intervene, presumably that would also mean the rape couldn't have been completed. Either way having any distinction between rape and attempted rape or whether the victim was cis or trans is fucked up.

Good to know that transgender people are a valued part of Swedish society. Holy fuck...

“The intended crime never had the possibility of being fulfilled,” explained judge Dan Sjöstedt of the Örebro District Court to local newspaper Nerikes Allehanda.

When the 61-year-old man had tried to commit the rape in Örebro, he had no idea that the intended victim was born a man, and had been taking hormonal treatment to reach the “right” identity, wrote the paper.

After following the woman for some time, the would-be rapist was “brutally violent” in the "attempted rape", tearing off the victim's pants and grabbing at the victim's crotch, according to the paper.

“We believe that he wanted to rape this woman in particular. But as she turned out to be a man, the crime never was actually committed,” said Sjöstedt, adding that the case against rape was “invalid”.

the fuck? you can rape a person even if said person has no vagina ffs. the guy was only stoped because others intervened, he was in the middle of rapeing someone. disgusting.

If only this was just some misguided and misogynist attempt at satire...fucking hell, one of the stupidest things I've ever read; '“We believe that he wanted to rape this woman in particular. But as she turned out to be a man, the crime never was actually committed"

Fucking Donald Duck legal system that makes no sense

All I can add here is my vitriol and anger at this fucking disgusting decision..I wish I could be more insightful and make a more serious comment but all this news makes me want to do is fucking scream in despair and, if the oportunity arose, smack a swedish judge in the head :cursing::(

Good to know that transgender people are a valued part of Swedish society. Holy fuck...

Changing your legal sex in Sweden requires you to be sterilized so... yeah. We Scandinavians know tolerance alright!

Though to be honest, this ruling tells us jack shit about transphobia in Swedish society, because this all seems to be about some weird wordings in the law. I'm not an expert of Swedish law, but this happening seems to be more about idiotic loopholes than blatant, outright transphobia. That doesn't mean transphobia isn't a huge problem in Sweden though (see the absolutely fucking batshit full-on eugenic sterilization law for example) even though cities like Stockholm are probably globally one of the best places to be trans.
