Hi, I hope I can make contributions and learn from the other "foristas" (I can´t remember the English term).
Ideologically, I am a Orthodox Marxist (Trotskyist, however I disagree with the Transitional Program and the theory of degenerated worker´s states, among other things).
I do have some controversial positions that are very unpopular in "left" organizations:
1) I believe that cultural (ethnic or sexual orientation) politics are divisive distractions.
2) I do not believe that revolutionaries, however effective they may be, can signifigantly raise the consciousness of the proletariat in this economic structure: capitalism.
3) I do not believe Marxist organizations should take sides in political clashes between two factions of the bourgeoisie unless a) it is a military conflict and b) the organization in question finds itself within the same geographical space as the conflict.
Since these issues are the bread and butter of so many parties, I am anticipating a cold reception. However, I am looking forward to the debate.
