I have been dating a girl for a while. She says she loves me, but can't explain why. She seems to dislike almost everything about me.

I think I stay with her more out of convenience and because I don't want to hurt her by leaving.

I recently traveled to another city and met her friend for coffee. I instantly fell head over heels for her. I have never felt like this for anyone. I can't get her off my mind. I eventually broke down and confessed. She seemed very flattered but said she didn't have the same feelings.

What the hell should I do about any of this :(

Leave. You and your girlfriend are together because you're afraid that you'll never find anybody else. I was in that situation two years ago...finally left her, and now I'm sleeping alone on my mom's couch while the ex is in grad school and dating my then-roommate.

First piece of advice: Stop thinking and referring to women as "girls".

Second piece of advice: Whenever possible avoid dating your lover's friend; it potentially breaks up two friendships, yours and hers.

Third piece of advice: Ignore all advice.

She might be a girl though, this probably isn't a case of casual sexism. We don't know the OP's age and to be honest, if he's making romantic advice threads on RevLeft, my money's on her being a girl.

Well, it's a moot point now.
