View Full Version : Anarcho-capitalism in practice

Questionable

I've been arguing with a lot of AnCaps lately, and it reminded me of a historical incident I once read about where a businessman started a colony for his workers that was supposed to be government-free, but it quickly descended into a police state when the workers went on strike, with privately-owned security guards forcing them to work. I think the workers may have even been killed before they ever got to leave.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

I've never heard about that, but it wouldn't surprise me. If everything was really privately run like they want, I don't see how it wouldn't become a survival-of-the-fittest and master-slave society.

Love how they think that privatizing everything is the epitome of "freedom" but then wonder why it evolves into something so dictatorial.

I want to say it's Lowell but not exactly positive, I know what you're talking about though.
