Dear friends, do you think that Camila Vallejos a Chile student activist leader is an aunthentic marxist and leftist. Or is she a bourgeoise liberal, mainstream leftist looking for fame, glory and popularity. I haven't read about her that well, but from my own personal opinion, I think that there is a cult around her. Since she is attractive. Her beauty might really lead her to a fake leftist looking for fame, personal power and egocentrical glory and not really to help the poor, the hungry and needy of Chile
Here is a link of her biography: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camila_Vallejo

not really to help the poor, the hungry and needy of ChileWell, she didn't exactly bill herself as a "defender of the poor, et.al in Chile" so it ain't like she has to prove anything on that regard.
She's basically a student activist focused on making education affordable and not much else as far as I know. There are many like her, in places like Puerto Rico, Quebec, etc.

She has the double-edged sword of being the "hot" politician. The fact that she is attractive makes her much more immediately compelling as a leader but it also means that anything she does is fundamentally diminished because people, struck (and mb a little guilty) by their own superficial approach to her, assume that her success is based more on her superficial than substantive strengths.
Attractive male politicians like Che Guevara of course don't have this problem.

She does the job more than fine, as we can see from the results, both for the students movement and the party, whats the problem?

When ever the student movement is mentioned here in the states, which is not often, they only concentrate on her physical appearance which comes off as a really overt attempt to domesticate her and the other students there.
However I recall reading an interview with her where she came off as somewhat willing to exploit her looks if it helped the movement, so she may be partly to blame.

Hi, thanks for your great answer. And indeed, and now that you are mentioning Che Guevara. I read in the biography of Che Guevara written by Paco O'Donell. That Che Guevara didn't like girls who were too beautiful, too fit, too sexy. He claimed that average looking women who are not sexy were less egocentrical, less self-absorved, and more full of humility and altruism. Than girls who had above average physical attractive qualities.
And that is so true, I've noticed that the masses the majority of people out there, tend to kneel down and turn into a god/goddess people who are very beautiful. And at the same time ignore and forget their virtues and mental abilities.
Another thing I've noticed that Camila Vallejos is part of the identity-politics. She is worried only about poor college students of Chile. And not about the whole poor class of Chile. That is still good, but I think that it is time for most leftists of this world to be more universal, more internationalist and more about marxist revolutionary party-building. That way we could solve all the problems of most countries at the same time, instead of just concentrating on isolated specific issues.
But I am still a little bit doubtful and agnostic about Camila Vallejo. So I can't really say if she is an aunthetic revolutionary marxist with the goal of helping the whole Chilean left to install a workers-government in Chile. Or if she is just worried about the poor college students of Chile
