Has anyone seen this? I think it was an HBO original. I'm home for winter break now and happened to see it on my father's bookshelf last night so I gave it a watch. Generally, I was suprised as to how sympathetic it was to communism in general. Lenin, Trotsky, Bukharin, and Stalin's wife were all protrayed as protagonists while on the other hand, Stalin was completely demonized. Has anyone else seen the film and have any thoughts on it? I'm not 100% sure of its historical accurateness. I'm no expert on 20th century Russia.

i thought this quote by Khrushchev's character near the end of the film was interesting:

without the purges, without the killings....without Stalin...we could have been a great nation.
