At my local High Schoo,l in which I am starting my senior year, is a particular teacher who promotes the hate of homosexuals and those of other sexual orientation. I had this teacher sophomore year, and I remember learning nothing about English (the class I had with him) and all about his opinions on why homosexuals are "spawns of satan". He is a minister at the local First Baptist Church, and being a small school a lot of fellow classmates attend his class. I know that he preaches even more about hate in the church, because I attended upon invitation a few times and that's ALL I heard about. Being gay, not openly but it's pretty obvious, a lot of kids call me discriminatory words. The teacher doesn't, but kids do. And they thing it's fine because it's "for God." Ugh, this is so frustrating. Well, it's summer now, and I'm moving schools, but there are still kids that attend this school that attend his church. What can I do, if anything, to prevent harassment and bullying again in this school?

When I saw this title I had an image of looking at your lesson timetable and seeing

9-10 English
10-11 Science
11-12 Hate
12-1 Math :D

You could take it to the principle if you think they might be receptive. Maybe ask your parents for help if they would back you up. If not perhaps ask some national anti-discrimination organization for advice and help, they might confront them for you.

but be careful and good luck

Definitely look into some organizations in your area. Might even try the ACLU, they might have some good advice for you, although I doubt they would offer any material help.

These organisations may be able to offer some help

HRC (see if there's a state HRC)

Gay/Straight Alliance-see if there is one in your state.

Affirming and Accepting Baptists (pro-LGBT Baptists, believe it or not)

Lambda Legal LGBT legal help

These people may be especially helpful
