I spend a lot of time on political forums arguing with (mainly American) conservatives and right-wingers who tear apart Socialism and Communism. I'm mentally exhausted at this stage. As Morrissey said, The World Won't Listen!:(

dont bother arguing with them. it is futile.

organizing and doing practical work on the other hand opens doors to discussion and practical examples and application of theory.

Does "arguing with idiots" make you "mentally exhausted"?

Interesting paradox.

Incidentally, the book of the same name from Glenn Beck is hilarious to read.

But yeah, forget online debates, those aren't going to usher in the revolution. Focus on events in your community and build an awareness from there.

Arguing with those sort of people is truly futile.
They will not engage in Dialectics,They will spew hate at you once you prove them wrong, they have already made an opinion and that opinion stays like a rock, a rock which is unmovable and cannot be moved.

It is best not to engage in conversation with them.

I wouldn't waste time on them. I learned that the hard way as well. It's somehow even more frustrating than trying to reason with some of them in person.

Yes Comrade Brad I too experienced talking to rightist idiots in real life.
They constantly attempt to make you look ridiculous and fall flat on there asses attempting it,they will pull an Atticus Finch on you and ask a million questions in an attempt to make you look like an idiot.

It is best to put the energy which would be wasted on them to good use and use it elsewhere.

Could you copy and past those arguments? I'm curious to see how conservatives tear apart communism. I thought the only thing they tore apart was food stamps, gay rights, women's rights, worker's rights...

some of you seem not to have had any bad times with headless chickens and self-righteous shape shifters who spout the most indefensible nonsense in a way designed to cause maximum outrage...and they do it on the back of nothing discernable like ideology or substance...... so afterwards you curse yourself for not tearing them apart and wiping the revolting smug smiles off their grids.

I can't be bothered to copy and paste it all, but this is a typical response i would get while talking about, for example, Marxism:
I don't have as much faith in the virtuous intentions of Karl Marx. He intended to force people into a system that stole their liberty and dignity. He's an asshole and is, as we speak, writhing in the flames of hell.

The response to the "Marx is in Hell" statement is to say: "Yes, and he and Engels have already led the revolution, put Satan and Stalin to work in the furnaces, organized the workers into councils and assemblies that produced enough air conditioners for everyone but conservatives and fascists, helped found a classless society, and are now waiting for you."

It's a little long, I know. But it usually stops them in their tracks.

For some reason I thought this thread was going to be about Glenn Beck.

On right-wing conservative sites again are we?

Spend some time on a farm, less bullshit there.
