Come on now, he's psychotic..
"If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives." (Leviticus 20:13 NAB).. so is God.

Come on now, he's psychotic..

Without a doubt. But organized religion enabled this!

One of the main reasons I became an atheist years ago.

Yes and no. He may, in fact, at one level be well-described as "psychotic," but this response reeks of psychologizing what is a social and structural phenomenon. His "psychosis" is probably a social "psychosis," resulting from a dialectical interplay between religion, social conditions, and individual circumstances.

Forgive me if this isn't what you were trying to do, but it's common for people to "psychologize" such cases in an attempt to absolve a social structures (like structural racism or in this case religion) of their role, perhaps a dominant one. It's like the fervent attempts to dismiss Breivik (the Norwegian mass murderer) as just an insanity case, a medicalized "anomaly" rather than the rational outcome of certain social forces and movements.

All religious books were made by humans, no god was required (which goes for everything else as well).

.

social "psychosis," that is something very hard to determine ,

for instant the believe of invisible characters or voices to the rest is Psychosis ( sensory hallucination ) , but then believing in god ! that sound the same but it's not treated as medical condition

A value like god is shared throughout a society and can be looked at as sort of mass hysteria, like the western wide spread belief that communism is bad.

I thought that even the most bigoted churches would draw the line at shooting 4 year olds for being gay. If only because I don't really think there's any way to tell one way or the other at that age. Nutcases + fundamentalist religion = bad combination.
