Hitherto I have been a Traditional Marxist(Or Classical whatever you would like to call it)and I have now walked into new realms and converted to a Marxist-Leninist-Maoist.
Here is where I would like to get answers to some questions I have.

1).I found many great writings from Marx,Engels,Stalin and Mao,however I am finding difficulty in finding good Lenin writings.
Everything I find is Irrelevant and consists of useless letters and there's thousands so its extremely hard to find a worthwhile writing from him.
Please recommend me some of Lenin's writings.(I use Marxist International Archive and From Marx to Mao)

2).Is it possible for me to learn from Stalin's teachings(I read many and they're good) but be opposed to his tyranny? I find it possible because Maoists criticize something in order for it to work better and more efficient and less... murderous.

3)What is your thoughts on Maoist Rebel News 2?

4)What do you think of somebody who has Communist hats,USSR flag and badges?Does it alter your opinion of said person (ie.Make him seem moronic and sad)

Thank you whoever responds!!!

Before I try to answer your questions, could you please explain why the change in ideas?

1).I found many great writings from Marx,Engels,Stalin and Mao,however I am finding difficulty in finding good Lenin writings.
Everything I find is Irrelevant and consists of useless letters and there's thousands so its extremely hard to find a worthwhile writing from him.
Please recommend me some of Lenin's writings.(I use Marxist International Archive and From Marx to Mao) Although I have not read it yet, "State And Revolution" should be his magnum opus, and it has been recommended to me many times.

2).Is it possible for me to learn from Stalin's teachings(I read many and they're good) but be opposed to his tyranny? I find it possible because Maoists criticize something in order for it to work better and more efficient and less... murderous. One must always disassociate people from their work. Engels was a bourgeois, since he owned a factory and employed workers. This does not discredit his ideas and theories.
The same goes with Stalin, his persona and his theory should be separated.

3)What is your thoughts on Maoist Rebel News 2? Biggest wanker this side of the galaxy.. But more precisely, he is no idea of what he is talking about. Also the fact that he clearly promotes some sort of state-capitalism, not communism.

http://www.marxists.org/ - This contains a ton of writings by many different Marxists, including Mao and the others you were interested in.

http://www.marx2mao.com/ - Similar to the first one. I'm not actually sure what the difference is besides formatting, but I think the people who host this website are Maoist, whereas the latter is Trotskyist (I heard that from somewhere, not sure if it's true).

Anyway, those two should have you set as far as finding official leftist works go.

1.) Hmm... I'd have to look around.
2.) Yes, you can agree with Stalin and be opposed to his "tyranny".
3.) I like the show, and watch it on a regular basis, even though he is hated on here
4.) I like communist clothing and badges etc, though some go over the top

Wait so you just skipped over Lenin? That makes no sense, he was one of the leaders of the entire revolution, and his writings are a million times more important to revolutionary theory than both stalin and mao. Read imperialism, state and revolution, the april thesis, anything he wrote about the communist international, but seriously it makes no sense to read Stalin who oversaw the utter destruction of the communist movement to negotiate with the capitalists and fascists whenever it seemed most opportune. He was what Marx would call a bonapartist.

Thank you very much Comrade Prinskaj!

I shall answer your inquiry earnestly as to why Comrades Unite! converted to Marxist-Leninist-Maoism.
Hours were spent researching Marxists on the library of the website ''Marxist Internet Archive'', Everything I read was interesting but not very appealing.

It was decided that Mao Zedong's writings should be investigated and the writings that were read were extremely appealing and how I felt about Communism and how I think it should be done.
This is my reason for pursuing Marxist-Leninism-Maoism

I am hoping these satisfy your wants to be informed of my conversion.:engles:

.1).I found many great writings from Marx,Engels,Stalin and Mao,however I am finding difficulty in finding good Lenin writings.

Like another user mentioned, you became a Maoist, believing Maoism to be a continuation of Marxism and Leninism, while never reading Lenin?

Everything I find is Irrelevant and consists of useless letters and there's thousands so its extremely hard to find a worthwhile writing from him.
Please recommend me some of Lenin's writings.(I use Marxist International Archive and From Marx to Mao)

1. Most of Lenin's writing is not irrelevant. Actually, I would argue it is extremely relevant.

2. I would reccomend you read the basics of Lenin: Imperialism The Highest Stage of Capitalism (http://www.marxists.org/archive/lenin/works/1916/imp-hsc/), State and Revolution (http://www.marxists.org/archive/lenin/works/1917/staterev/), What Is To Be Done (http://www.marxists.org/archive/lenin/works/1901/witbd/), and there are many others...

2).Is it possible for me to learn from Stalin's teachings(I read many and they're good) but be opposed to his tyranny? I find it possible because Maoists criticize something in order for it to work better and more efficient and less... murderous.

I guess you can appreciate Stalin's theory while criticizing his reign, but many Stalinists and Maoists would hate you for it. Stalin's theory is really flawed though (based on my own subjective analysis anyways). Popular frontism, support for national liberation, defending generalized commodity production in his writing Economic Problems of Socialism In The USSR, etc. etc.

3)What is your thoughts on Maoist Rebel News 2?

Fucking lunatic.

4)What do you think of somebody who has Communist hats,USSR flag and badges?Does it alter your opinion of said person (ie.Make him seem moronic and sad)

Usually I think the person is just trying to seek attention. There is no other reason (unless at a march or protest) for people to wear there political beliefs.

1. The State and Revolution is one from the top of my head.

2. Don't try and be dogmatic. I support some Maoist principles, and oppose some, and still call myself a Trotskyist.

If the person is a supporter of the USSR during Stalin, I question why. I also question why they are fetishizing the past.

I would like to ask you the following:

i) Why do you you think you can decide on your tendency out of nowhere, what theories appeal to you in the Marxist-Leninist tradition?

ii) What actions and ideas of Stalin/Mao/Hoxha/etc. do you disagree with?

iii) Would you be open to reading critiques of Marxism-Leninism (Stlainism, Maoism, etc.)?

iv) If you find difficulty finding good Lenin writings, why would you choose a tendency which is, supposedly, based on Lenin?

I would probably assume they either have some WWII or Soviet Union fetish, or are just using Communism as a "fashion statement".

Lenin

"State and Revolution" A masterpiece, classic on what a socialist "state" would be like.

"Imperialism, The Highest State of Capitalism" How finance capital gained hegemony over other types of capital. The best explanation of why WWI started. Everything he said is even more true today.

"The April Theses" Short essay. Why we can't cooperate with Kerensky

"What Is To Be Done" Lenin's masterpiece. May require a bit of knowledge of the factions in Russian socialism of the early 1900s but even without this its essential reading.Again, everything Uncle Vlad said back then is just as true now.Not a light read but important.

"Materialism and Empirio-Criticism" Lenin's devastating rebuttal to idealist followers of Ernst Mach, a physicist with New Age ideas who had influence on German and Rssian socialism f the time. I haven't read this yet, actually.

From my knowledge so far I think the first four can be considered Lenin's "essential works". All socialists should read them.

You may want to get The Lenin Anthology by Robert Tucker, its kind of Lenin's "greatest hits", a collection of his most important writings.

1)I didn't decide it out of nowhere, I'm already a Marxist and I knew what Marxism-Leninism was and I thought about it for awhile and like the idea.
My question was simply asking for some writings, A recommendation if you will.

2)Stalin-The Great Purge,Cult Of Personality, forced famines and his incompetence during the second world war.
Mao-Cult of Personality and I felt he was a little strong in his ridding of ''Undesirables.
Hoxha-I know Albanians and they tell me he was horrible. He reminds me a little of North Korea and the Kims.Yeah I hate this man,

3)Yes I would.

4)I knew what he was for, I just had diffuculties finding writings from him that weren't letters or speeches.

Also Ireland may have no peasantry but it has good agriculture that needs to be completely upgraded and have a good relationship between Heavy industery and Agriculture and Light Industry.

You'll have some interesting times in the Socialist Party. Despite that I advise to remain in that group and discuss your views and fight for what you believe in. This behaviour in itself helps combat the sectarian landscape we live in today.

1).I found many great writings from Marx,Engels,Stalin and Mao,however I am finding difficulty in finding good Lenin writings.

In addition to what the other comrades already suggested, I'll add that you can add Kautsky pre-1909 to your reading list. It is this body of work that shaped Lenin's politics and that of the Bolsheviks in general.

2).Is it possible for me to learn from Stalin's teachings(I read many and they're good) but be opposed to his tyranny? I find it possible because Maoists criticize something in order for it to work better and more efficient and less... murderous.
I haven't read a lot of Stalin, but what I read was closely connected to the way he ruled and, as such, I stand on the position that the main function of his writings post-1924 was to give a counterrevolutionary regime a red lining. So, for that reason, I'd suggest you read the texts with this in mind, a healthy grain of salt.

3)What is your thoughts on Maoist Rebel News 2?
I have no particular opinion on that.

4)What do you think of somebody who has Communist hats,USSR flag and badges?Does it alter your opinion of said person (ie.Make him seem moronic and sad)
I had that phase and I believe the majority here does. I don't mind it in itself, but it often is an indicator that the person is a strong partisan of his/her flavour of communist ideology and as such can be difficult to debate with.

No, there's nothing to learn from Stalin regarding Marxist theory, economics, etc. There's nothing remotely interesting in his writings. Most of his work is lip service and served to reinforce his shitty regime. Although I don't see any reason to not read about him for historical reasons.

2) Maoists usually do something like that. They claim to view Stalin "critically" but aren't against him.

4) Really silly.

My questions are these:
Do you support the Maoist concept of "New Democracy" and "Bloc of 4 Social Classes?" Do you view the "peasantry"/agricultural workers as the primary locus/force of revolution rather than the urban proletariat in Ireland?
