So at reddit, a guy just posted about a game of Civilization II that he's had going for 10 years.
It basically resembles 1984 with more nukes.

It then exploded everywhere, to the point that multiple news sites picked up the story.

I came here to post about this. It's the strangest thing I've witnessed in a while. Even televised news has been talking about the story. Does this say something about the mindset of our current society, to be totally obsessed with an apocalyptic future of nuclear war and virtual enslavement?
Either way, it got me back into Civ4 after about six years. Ironically, the new game I started as Mao placed me as a neighbor to Stalin, and he was the first person I met.

Of course it shows how deeply embedded/rooted Christianity is in our society which is the main source with the obsession of the apocalypse.

you could say the same thing about basically every western artistic phase, in someway, relates to christianity.
no, i think the apocalyptic stylizing is part new marketing trend (zombies) part ennui and part feeling there is an inevitable death that probably came about right after the bomb came about.

Is the end of the world scenario really that unique to christianity and other abrahamic religions ?
The norse pagans have ragnarok but off the top of my head i can not think of other religions that also have that.
