The America's Army game consists of two interlaced game experiences that highlight the role of various types of units within the Army and the development of the Soldiers that comprise these units. As with Soldiers in the U.S. Army, game players are bound by the laws of land warfare, Army values and realistic rules of engagement as they navigate challenges in teamwork-based multiplayer force versus force operations. In the game, as in the Army, mission accomplishment standings are functions of team effort and adherence to a set to values and norms of conduct. Players who violate these norms incur penalties ranging from a loss of standing within the game to incarceration in a virtual jail cell at Fort Leavenworth.

The major 2.0 update adds the option to undergo rigorous training to unlock the Special Forces classes. There are a number of new weapons, such as the customizable M4, six new maps, indigenous forces on some maps, and other changes like a new server browser. This installer contains the full U.S. Army-sponsored game.

I wonder if the Army hid anything else in the code of that game.

I wonder if you get extra points for executing wounded, shooting children, bombing water treatment plants, and stealing artifacts from an ancient civilization?

HA ! The thought of 2 of our oldest members hunkered down playing army video games cracks me up.

Disgustapated, you change you avatar more than I change my underwear.

Unfortunately, I can't join in the "fun"...it is a 650mb monster--takes two weeks to download on dial-up.

Minimum RAM is 128...which, as you know, must always be doubled or even tripled to give you an accurate number, leaving my ancient steam-powered Gateway far out of the running.

But I wondered about the accuracy of the game as well; is it a "sanitized" version or does it really get "down and dirty"?

It's the A.D.D that kicks in.

Actually it's usually this one, however I had substituted it for a while with a pirate with a sword and pistol. I do try keeping the theme of cut throat, blood thirsty pirate though. :D

Redstar, I'll mail you a copy of the game. If you want it.

Comrades should help comrades I've always said.
