Governor Mitch Daniels, a Republican, has authorized changes to a 2006 legislation that legalizes the use of deadly force on a public servant including an officer of the law in cases of unlawful intrusion. Proponents of both the Second and Fourth Amendments those that allow for the ownership of firearms and the security against unlawful searches, respectively are celebrating the update by saying it ensures that residents are protected from authorities that abuse the powers of the badge

I seem to remember a similar law being proposed in another state. Can't remember whether it passed or not, but I distinctly remember one objector to the law saying that it would mean "open season" on police officers. Apparently people trying to exercise their supposed rights against the meatheads who are only fit for kicking down a door and terrorizing people over drug charges means "open season". If only.

So we have Chavez prohibiting the ownership of weapons and Republicans making it lawful to shoot cops.

This is how life plays tricks on us.

Makes sense. If somebody feels the need to knock down my front door, they're getting a bullet in the head. I don't have time to look for a badge, really.

Give the conservatives some credit - at least they sort of realise the problems inherent in our proto-surveillance state. Though I do hate myself for liking anything linked to the arseholes.

You don't get it, son. We Uhmurikins have gotta protect our families from Barack Hussein Obama and his Muslamic Socialist Stormtroopers who are going to kick in our doors and take away our guns, our Christmas and our wealth (that we don't have yet, but will someday!).

Seriously, though, I think the above really is the logic behind it. It's a part of the "Tenther/Nullifier" current that was originally a key part of the Tea Party Nativists, and is now a part of the Republican Party mainstream.
