Do you believe that technocracy is somehow compatible with the dictatorship of the proletariat? This question is pretty complicated, it seems to me.
The idea seems to be based around decision making of experts in their individual fields. It makes some sense, but for obvious reasons it could dilute proletarian class rule. I'm unsure about that, though. I've heard the name Alexander Bogdanov come up in this.
Anyway, anyone have any articles or anything on this?

Technocracy would he compatible with the DOtP if rather than making decisions unilaterally, technocrats prepared extensive reports on particular problems/issues and then the workers could determine how they want to apply that knowledge.

It depends on if you think a genuinely rational economic system is one that properly takes into account the needs and aspirations of the largest possible amount of people within it, which I do.

I think it roughly depends on the tendency of the technocrat (yes, there are different technocratic tenancies just like there's different marxist tendancies.)
Well first of all we have our home grown version, Anarchist Communist Technocratic Transhumanism (ACTT) which you can find in Noxion's signature, which was (re)designed with this very question in mind.
As for the Howard Scott original version... erm... dunno. As far as I know, Howard Scott was no friend of communists. But I'll assume that Positivist's answer was based on this particular version.
Tech.ca variant? Again, I have no idea, though it's pretty close to the original with some... minor differences.
EOS version: Probably, it does sound a lot more compatible than the other versions baring our homegrown one of course.
RBA/Venus project variant? Don't know enough about it.
Skip Sievert's Fundamentalistic version (aka the halariously redundant "Technocracy Technate" version, or as some of us have taken to calling it: the Skip Circus)): HELL NO.
... or at least that's how I understand it. I could be quite wrong. feel free to correct me on that.

I am 100% for Transhumanism. I personally feel like transhumanism and communism are totally compatible and can really compliment and enhance each other on every level.
