I'm new here so I believe an introduction is in order.
I'm from the United States. I live smack dab in the heart of the Bible Belt, unfortunately. Pretty much everyone around me save for my close friends is a typical American conservative: Bible reading, Reagan worshiping, gun toting, climate change denying, etc. I don't want to be judgmental, so I'm just going to say I really don't see eye to eye with them.
I don't have a lot to say about my political views other than I despise racism, sexism, and homophobia and that (I think) I've got good arguments against people who hold sexist, homophobic, or racist sentiments. I do identify as a leftist, but I'm not really sure why aside from my disdain for fear-based thinking. I'd really like to expand on that; perhaps you guys could help me out? :)
I'm an atheist and that's all I wish to say about my religious beliefs or lack thereof.
Any recommendations for a good place to start, i.e., an article or two?
