I've bypassed Chapter 1 Section 3 - The Form of Value or Exchange-Value because I don't understand it. Can someone please explain this chapter to me?

There's a book called "Marx's Capital for Beginners" that was posted on this forum and is very helpful for understanding Das Kapital.

There's also a summary be Engels entitled "On Capital" that you can find on the Marxist Internet Archive.

Are we talking about "The Value-Form, or Exchange Value", the whole thing? Some questions to start with would be helpful for us to understand what it is you need help with.

I can't promise I can help you very much, as I've only reached the beginning of chapter three myself. But if you're more specific I'll see what I can do.

David Harvey apparently does a wonderful job in his lectures, which are available on youtube...

Here's the link to his website, which has the videos... http://davidharvey.org/reading-capital/

I have all 3 volumes sitting next to me, I need to get down to actually reading them myself. I'm such a slacker.

As others have said, it's difficult to help you with this section without you asking more specific questions.
