Also in Queensland they suspended Democracy when they voted an 80% right wing government into power.

So you'll excuse me if I don't sit back and philosophise until the revolution happens.

things weren't more 'democratic' when labor was in power (we live in capitalism). it's not like they're more left-wing than the liberals anyway, what with all the privatisation (big part of why they got voted out). it's not like this is the first major existential threat to the great barrier reef anywho.

bejesus... take care of our treasures........ we can not make another one.... these natural wonders are priceless beyond anything we.... mere, little, small, us can imagine.
it is like a relay race with 100s of competitors each with a little stretch holding the baton..... not only are we about to drop the baton..... we have wet ourselves, soiled the track with shit, puked all over the course and are about to ruin the surface with our impractical, inconsiderate unsuitable shoes...... what more damage will we do before it is our turn to pass it on.....?

These people know that the reef is alive and thousands of years old, right? It is a treasure beyond value. One cannot simply plow through it and expect to get away with it. It's like blowing up Mt. Everest, filling in the Grand Canyon, or damming the Amazon. It simply shall not happen without severe 'percussions'.
